How To Beat Depression

In this article, I talk about my own struggles with depression and how I've learned to deal with it and even get rid of it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets depressed from time to time, but that doesn't make it any easier for me. I hope the article is fun to read.

I just recently talked to my parents about how depressed I am. My mother said that she thinks most of us in our family have some kind of depression gene because we all have similar symptoms.

I had a bad case of this depression as recently as last week, but I learned something from it that I think is important. I was going through a rough time where it seemed like everything was going wrong. It was like getting kicked in the teeth over and over again. I had nothing to look forward to, so I decided to go out with my friends for the night. I only had one goal in mind, and that was to get as drunk as I could.

After a very late night and, as planned, a lot of alcohol, I felt really sick and hungover the next day. I had trouble staying awake all day, and as the day went on, I felt worse and worse. The bad part of my brain seemed to have taken over my whole head, and it felt like a lot of bad chemicals were running through my body.

I have learned that it is not a good idea to go out drinking when you are feeling sad and down.

When I told my parents about my recent anxiety and depression, they gave me some good and interesting advice. They asked me to think about everything in my life that was making me unhappy. Then I had to talk about them and keep a positive attitude by trying to find solutions to each of them.

This is not easy at all, but I now try to do it. I've learned that it's good to talk about our fears and phobias and that it's okay to say that you're stressed out and sad.

I hope I won't have to deal with these regular bouts of depression for the rest of my life, because I hate it, especially when I can't sleep at night, which happens to me quite often. I will look for more ways to deal with my depression, though, when it comes.

I now try to think positively about everything. Life is too short to worry about everything all the time. I've also started reading a lot of self-help books, which have taught me a lot and given me a lot of new ideas.
