It's not unusual for a man to want to hang out with his buddies and maybe play some poker. It also happens often that a man's plans get messed up by his wife.
So that you don't have to worry about your wife finding out, I'll tell you how to have some harmless fun at home without her finding out.
The easiest but most expensive way to get rid of your wife so you can have some "Man Time" is also the best way to do it. You take her and one of her friends to a weekend spa for her birthday.
Your wife will think you are the best husband ever and will have no idea that you are going to throw a poker game while she is away. The best part of this plan is that your wife will be so grateful for what you have done that she may let you go out with the boys more often.
The next way is more complicated and will take at most 4 or 5 hours, but it is much cheaper than a trip for two people. A scavenger hunt scam can work, even though it may seem like something a child would do. I've seen it on TV, too.
The key to the scavenger hunt is that each place has to be important in some way. One of the places she needs to go could be the first place you went on a date.
The most important part of the game is the end, so make your last stop a restaurant and get there before she does. Try to think of something meaningful that is close to where you live so you don't have to drive too far. This will give you the most time to play poker with your friends.
I have to admit that this is not the best way to play poker, but getting away with even an hour of poker without her knowing is more exciting than any regular poker game could ever be.
You need to be ready to leave now that you have a plan for getting her out of the house. A large plastic drop cloth is the most important part of this. So that if something gets spilled, it will be easy to clean up.
Make sure the table and chairs are ready to go and that they are put back the same way they were taken. You might want to use a digital camera to make sure you don't forget how everything looked before the game, because your wife will.
I don't think you should hire a cleaning service right before your wife gets back from her trip. If the house is too clean, she will know something strange is going on.
The last two tips I have are to always have a really nice gift on hand in case she finds out, and to not invite your friends' wives if your wife and their wives are friends. If one guy gets caught, you will all get caught.
