My cousin bought a new car a few months ago. After this happened, I started to see that model of car almost everywhere I went. It wasn't that everyone else bought one all of a sudden. I just took more notice of it. If it didn't happen all the time, it would have been strange. When someone brings something to your attention for the first time, you become more aware of it. Then, you start to see similar things over time, maybe as long as the object is on your mind, like in dreams. The same goes for goals. Keep them in mind, and you will see more things that are related to them.
There's something metaphysical about this. Some people will tell you that if you just think about what you want, you can bring the right people or events into your life. You might or might not believe this. Even if you don't, you have to agree that people who keep their goals in mind are more aware. They notice things that most people don't. I've seen it a lot of times in the past. When I was in college and just starting my first business, my first goal was to get clients. This wasn't easy for me to do. I had no idea where to start. I was also thinking about my schoolwork at the time. So I tried to divide up the time I had between the two. My business partner was not the same as me. Even though he was probably studying harder than I was, he always kept the business in mind, too. So, he always found new clients or ideas, while I was always stuck. I didn't even notice when these chances came and went.
It can be hard to stay focused for a long time. There are so many other things in life that want our attention. So it helps to know what to put first. Make this goal one of the most important things in your life so that you remember it. It should be something that makes you want to do more. So, it won't be as easy for the background noise to drown it out. As you do things, you can think about how they fit into the context of your goal. You will start to see more chances. You will get lucky more often. You will make it more likely that you will succeed.
You'd be surprised at how much you could learn by making a casual comment about how interesting a conversation in a store is to you. It's possible that the stranger you're talking to is an investor. He might have some good ideas that could help you on your way. You could see a billboard with a message that makes you think of something new. All of this could happen, but the chances are much higher if you keep your mind on the task at hand.
So, if you and most other people want to be financially independent, keep that in mind, but not in the way most people do, which is to be afraid. Just be alert. Look around you and at the people you see every day. You will be able to see your chance when it comes and grab it.
Focus is the key.
