One thing is certain.
I know this with my whole heart, my whole soul, and my whole being.
I know I can decide who I am, when I am, and where I am.
I might not be able to choose what I do for a living, where I live, or what kind of car I drive right now.
But if I'm a writer now, I'm a writer, even if I live in a homeless shelter, write on paper bags with pencil shavings, and take the bus to a fast food job to try to get out of the shelter.
If what I do now is writing, then I'm a writer, even if my kids are sick, my car is broken down, my computer won't turn on, and I haven't sold anything in years.
But if I'm a writer now, and I decide I should be a doctor, I'm going to be pretty unhappy, because I'm a writer now.
On the other hand, if I'm a writer who wants to become a doctor, I know a lot about who I am and who I want to be. I probably also know if it's possible and how to get there.
Don't ever forget who you are. Be yourself wherever you are and whenever you are.
Be you.
