Sony's seventh-generation game console is the Playstation 3, which is the third in the Playstation line.
Playstation users in Japan and the US won't have to wait long for the Playstation 3, which will come out in November 2006. The PS3, on the other hand, won't be available in Europe and Australasia until March 2007. Diodes, which are used in Blu-ray optical drives, are hard to make, so this has happened, according to reports.
There will be two different ways to buy the Playstation 3. The first type has an internal hard drive with 60 GB of space, memory card readers, and Wi-Fi. The second version doesn't have Wi-Fi or a memory card. Instead, it just has a 20-GB hard drive.
A PS3 package comes with one controller, one Ethernet cable, one power cable, and one USB cable, in addition to the 20-GB or 60-GB console.
Sony said in their news that the Playstation 3 will be able to be played with a mouse and keyboard, which PC gamers will surely be glad to hear. The USB will be used to connect the mouse and keyboard to the PS3 console. But it's still not clear if any USB mouse or keyboard will be able to connect to the unit console or only certain ones. Sony also wrote that Playstation Portables will be able to connect to PS3 through Bluetooth. The PSP can be used as a remote for the game console. With this, PS3 players can look through folders and files without getting up. Also, movies and photos can be moved from one device to the other. But the PSP can't be used as a controller for the PS3.
Game fans and people who like the Playstation have always wanted to know what's new, especially with the Playstation 3.
Recently, Sony warned the public about possible scams involving the game console that is coming out soon. Sony told people to be careful when ordering things ahead of time over the internet.
In its report, Sony said that discounts and other special offers are used by many websites to try to get people to buy from them.
Sony, on the other hand, did not say which websites are part of these scams. They told the people who might buy that they should be careful when pre-ordering online and only buy from registered and authorised sellers.
In other news, Sony has put out a list of the titles of its window games. The games on the list should be available in the first six months. These are some of the titles:
- Fight Night Round 3* *Full Auto 2: Battlelines* *Call of Duty 3* *NBA 2k7* *Genji: Days of the Blade* *Resistance: Fall of Man* *Sonic the Hedgehog* *F.E.A.R. * *Marvel: Ultimate Alliance* *Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII* *Untold Legends of Dark Kingdom* *Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07* *Mobile Suit Gundam
In another recent story, Sony said that the batteries in the SIXAXIS, the wireless controller for the PS3, would not be able to be taken out. This means that when the batteries run out, the user would have to buy a new set. Since the controllers are so big, this has, of course, caused some trouble.
A Sony representative said that their controllers have the most advanced Lithium Polymer batteries as a defence. Because of this, it is expected that the battery will last for many years. They promised that if their products broke, Sony would fix them.
