A book by Martha Peace called "Attitudes of a Transformed Heart" came out a few years ago. Romans 12:2 is the basis for her work, which says to "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" and not to "be conformed to this world." People who are not Christians and people who are Christians often have a low view of God and, as a result, a casual view of sin and the Bible. Instead of seeing God as "Most High," they think of "Man (as) Most High" to try to make God serve man. This low view of God shows in how they feel about God, how they feel about the Bible, and how they feel in their hearts.
Martha Peace has been a biblical counsellor for a number of years, and she often talks at conferences about issues that are important to women. In the fall, she will go to southern Illinois to be the main speaker at a conference for women. The Gateway Biblical Counseling and Training Center in Fairview Heights, Illinois, is hosting the conference.
The conference will take place on October 13 and 14, 2006, at Edgemont Bible Church, 5100 North Illinois, Fairview Heights, Illinois, 62208. (618-277-3990). Information about the conference can be found at www.gateway-biblical-counseling.net.
