Can dream interpretation be a good way to learn about yourself?
Yes, that's my answer. But to answer the question of how it can be so, well, to be honest, I don't know. I can only say that the intelligence of soul, higher self, or Source, which guides us, works in mysterious ways. The best way to get in touch with this cosmic intelligence is to figure out what our dreams mean. This is one of the easier ways to do it, compared to things like training in clairvoyance and other psychic skills. This is easy because most people have dreams.
Dream interpretation is interesting because it can be used in other areas as well. It can be used, and has been used successfully, to figure out what the symbols we see when we meditate mean. If you understand the symbology, it can help you move on to higher and more abstract ways of knowing.
I think it's important to have certain skills to be able to understand dreams. One of these is a strong sense of intuition. Sadly, this is a skill that no software or tool for dream interpretation can have. We are the only ones who can take care of it.
Intuition is what ties together and makes clear connections between dream images and symbols that seem unrelated at first.
This then organises the connections into a message that makes sense.
Mind-based reasoning is not intuition. It's just that inner knowing of feeling or sensing that goes beyond logic and reasoning. Intuition is a real way that our minds work. Unfortunately, our modern society is heavily based on "mental rationalisation," so it can't validate a higher-order process like intuition. We have been putting too much importance on logic, proof, and reasoning.
Sometimes, intuition doesn't tell you how things will turn out. In my case, the answers and explanations come from an inner knowing.
If one's thoughts are about how much better they are and are filled with elitism and pride, they should take a closer look at themselves before getting too excited. These might not be intuitive thoughts. If they say things like, "If you do this, you'll be rich and famous," or "She must be wrong because I'm smarter," you should check them out. That thought might be coming from the part of the ego or personality that is concerned with body-mind survival.
