"Even though I take classes, read books, and listen to CDs, I still don't have the life I want and am unhappy with the one I have. How can I live the kind of life I want?"
This is a problem that comes up surprisingly often. People who go to a lot of seminars could be called "seminar junkies." They go from class to class, book to book, and guru to guru looking for answers, but they never find them.
They see how the lives of people around them change magically and feel angry and frustrated that they aren't getting the same results. Most of the time, these people keep going to course after course until they give up and live a quiet life of desperation.
Now, I'm going to tell you a huge secret, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else. If you do, all these people who make their living from self-help seminars and books will be very mad at me for telling this secret.
Most people who go to self-help seminars, read self-help books, or listen to self-help CDs are desperate for someone else to change their lives for them. They don't want to be responsible for their lives and are sure that the only way they can change is if a guru waves a magic wand over them and gives them a blessing. Then, and only then, will they be able to change and have permission to do so.
Here's some news.
No guru, self-help book, seminar, or CD will make a big difference in your life.
You can only make changes in your life if you decide to do so.
You can take the classes, listen to the CDs, and read the books, but you will never get the changes you want if you are not willing to take responsibility for what you have in your life and accept your own power and ability to change it.
You're right. You won't change at all.
In today's society, people are much too willing to give up their personal power and responsibility for their lives. They are always trying new diets or health trends, hoping that one of them will work.
Follow these 5 steps if you want to change your life:
Right now, decide that you are going to change your life. There are many ways to do this, and you can use some of the motivational techniques I teach in my courses and workbooks to help you decide.
Take responsibility for everything that happens to you, good or bad. Because you made it and let it into your life, you can change it.
Figure out what you do want in your life, what you will accept, and what you will not accept. If you don't know what you want, think about what you don't want. What you want is the opposite of that. Choose who you want to be and what you want to do. Make a plan of action for change. Make a plan for how you will change these things.
And DO IT. That's the most important step of all. Yes, do it and make the necessary changes. This is the step that separates people who get things done and are successful from those who just dream but don't do anything about it.
If you've been to all these seminars and read all these books but still haven't changed your life, look inside and ask yourself this question.
"Am I taking charge of making changes in my life?"
If the answer is no, then you need to start making changes in your life right away. Whether you work with someone else or with me, you need to take responsibility and use what you learn from the "gurus," courses, and books to create the life of your dreams, the life you deserve.
You can wait for someone else to make the changes for you forever, but it will never happen. YOU have to DO it on your own. Stop putting things off. The longer you wait, the harder and more painful they will be.
P.S. If you're reading this and saying "I tried" or "I can't" or something similar, you need to go back and read this article two or three times and put it into practise right now. It's time to stop trying and start getting things done.
