Snoring is the sound made by throat parts moving back and forth. This only happens when we sleep, when our muscles are the most relaxed. When the muscles relax, they fall back, blocking the airway and making it narrower. This makes it hard for air to get through.

Weight
People are more likely to get conditions that make them snore if they don't move around much, have health problems, or eat too much fat. Everyone knows that people who are overweight are more likely to snore than people who are in good health. Because their throats are usually thicker. So, there are more things that can block the airways and make it hard to breathe. To fix this, people who are overweight are told to lose some weight. This will not only make them more comfortable, but it will also make it less likely that they will snore louder.
Alcohol
Problem snoring can start right away if the muscles in the back of the throat relax and fall down. To avoid making the muscle problems worse, it is best not to drink alcohol right before going to bed.
Smoking
One of the many bad things that smoking does to the body is change the cells in the throat. But because the mucus is coming out in a strange way, the mucous membranes in the throat and oesophagus will swell and block the small blood vessels in the lungs.

There are two important stages of sleep that can change how you breathe while you sleep. Stage 1 is the time when a person has just started to fall asleep. This will happen again whenever something wakes you up. The other stage is called Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. Sleep is when dreams happen.
Most likely, a person who snores has trouble breathing when they sleep. This could be because his or her bed partner is noisy or grunts a lot.

Sleeping habits
It is well known that people who sleep on their backs tend to snore more than those who sleep on their sides. When you sleep on your back, gravity pulls on the tongue and throat muscles, which makes the throat more comfortable. So, if there was any loose flesh around, the air that moves through the tract would probably push the relaxed muscles up.
You could also get some relief from sleeping on your back. So that the diaphragm can relax and the tongue doesn't fall back, the angle of the chair must be 30 degrees.
Medical Problems
Any cause of a blocked throat can make it hard for you to sleep. It can swell or get inflamed because of allergies or other things that bother its tissues. Large adenoids, large tonsils, extra tissue on the throat, and changes in how the cells are made can all make it hard to breathe. Most of the time, surgery is recommended for these.
