Do you want to come up with new ideas that can make you money? Not me. I just like coming up with them. Here are some new ideas I would like to see come to life. I hope that at least one or two of you will use them.
There are new things for the outdoors.
The idea behind these tents is to have two inflatable sleeves that cross over the top of a dome-shaped tent. It might not be stiff enough for nights with a lot of wind, but it's worth a shot. If they were inflatable from the inside, you could quickly crawl inside and out of the rain to blow them up.
Attachment for a rail-runner bike: This is a new idea I want to try, but I don't think the railroad companies will like it. Wouldn't it be great if you could ride your bike next to train tracks? They go many places where roads don't go. The idea is to have something that keeps the wheels of the bike on the track as you ride. Since trains sometimes go by, they would need to be easy to take down.
If it's been done, I haven't seen any helium-filled kites yet. With a little help from the helium, these kites could fly in any wind. If they were made right, they would still fly like a kite, and they would be easier to control if they were made like a stunt kite with two strings. A kite with a small helium balloon attached could be the first prototype. If this is made, I'll buy one.
Other recent innovations
T-shirts that can be thrown away: Dollar stores sell them, so we know they're getting cheap. Why not come up with a line of cheap shirts that are good enough and don't cost much to make? Sell them as "disposable clothing" in boxes of 12. Where is the shop? People who don't want to do as much laundry on long trips or who want cheap clothes to wear while doing dirty jobs.
Fast-food tube: These could be like the tubes at bank drive-throughs, but they would have to stay level for the drinks. With these, one slow person at the drive-through won't hold up the whole line because there can be more than one line. Customers put their money on this conveyor belt, and they get their food back the same way. Just pull up to the next empty lane. I can't wait to see this new thing.
Magnetic painting kits would have a flat "canvas" made of a magnetic material (steel? ), and a variety of different colours of iron dust or small shavings. Just carefully apply the metal dust to make any "painting" you can think of. It would be like a Buddhist sand mandala, but it would last a little longer. If you used a "fixer" on the finished painting, you could even hang it on the wall.
Invisible walls: This is a new idea that sounds like a lot of fun. If you put cameras on a wall in the right places and used the other side of the wall as a projection screen for these cameras, it would be like you could see right through the wall into the other room. I'm not sure how useful a "invisible ceiling" would be, but it would be nice to look at at night.
Magnetic signs for windows: Thousands of businesses put their company name and logo on big magnetic signs for their vehicles. There's no question that you can only use these on metal. To stick to car or building windows, they need a flat magnet or steel mesh on the other side of the glass. This may be one of those "unpatentable" ideas, but the first person or company to trademark a catchy name and sell a lot of them could do well with it.
