Ask almost anyone these days, "What's the "secret" to making money on the Internet?" and you'll get about three answers.
- Put your own ezine out there.
- Put your own ezine out there.
- Put your own ezine out there.
Yes, I'm being redundant. And no, I'm not being redundant.
In the past, you could get rich off of search engine results alone. Do a search for "ebook downloads" or "free ebooks" today. How many millions of results do you get back? What are your chances of being seen, even if you have a pretty high rank?
Forget FFA pages. There could be a few hits. But no one can see what you write. And not many people will see your confirmation sales letter if you host a page. But that's a different story.
Safe mail lists? You asked them to send your messages to millions of people without sending spam. Right? How many of the list's messages that were sent to you have you actually read? Well, that's also the number of people reading your sales letter.
So, we're back where we started.
PUT YOUR OWN EZINE OUT THERE.
You're hurting yourself if you don't have your own newsletter, ezine, or whatever you want to call it. At the time this article was written, almost everyone making real money (six-figure money) did so because of their ezine and how big their mailing list was.
So, what's going wrong? Why doesn't everyone have a regular ezine that they send out? It's the same old excuse.
"But I don't know how to get an ezine out there."
"But I have no idea what to write."
"But I have no idea how to write."
"But, I don't have time."
So, what do you know? It's time for us to get off our "buts" and start writing. It's simple. It's quick. And it will help you sell more!
I don't know how to put out an ezine, though.
Then what? I can't sing. I can't carry a tune to save my life. But I still sing, even when my daughter tells me to stop.
You want an ezine? Here are the simple steps.
- Here's where you put your first article.
- Here's where you put your second article.
- Write a short paragraph to start. Use this every time.
- Put your information about how to unsubscribe here. Use this every time.
- Here's where you should put your pitch. Each time, change it.
Send it to the people on your mailing list.
OK. There is your newsletter. Look how simple it is.
But I have no idea what to write about.
Go to some message boards and discussion groups that are related to what you're selling. You write about the most interesting things. This way, other people will give you ideas, and you'll be able to keep your article content up-to-date.
I don't know how to write, though.
Again, what does it matter? You only have to write the short paragraph at the beginning. If you are an affiliate and sell someone else's product, they probably already have sales letters or short ezine ads written. Use them, because that's why they're there. Find someone who can write good sales copy if you want to sell something you made. Pay them to help you with a few ads.
When it comes to articles, borrow them. There are thousands of authors who want YOU to publish THEIR articles in YOUR ezine. Why? They can put a link to their website at the end of the article. When more people post their articles, more people visit the site. When more people visit the site, they make more sales.

- * But, I don't have time. **
Every two weeks, do you have 20 or 30 minutes? All it really takes is that. You already have your first paragraph, your sales pitch, and how to get off the list. For each issue, all you need are a couple of new articles. Using "borrowed" articles takes care of this for you. All you have to do to make your ezine is copy and paste.
All done. You now have an ezine that you put out every two weeks. It's just as good as most of the others. Your biweekly ezine shouldn't take you more than an hour to put together each month, and you don't even have to write anything.
You only need to build that mailing list so that as many people as possible can get your ezine. Many articles explain how to do this, so I won't go into detail in this one. But here are a few thoughts:
- Have a link to subscribe to your site on every other page.
- Use "ad swapping" ezines to your advantage.
- Put a link to sign up on the main page of your website where it is easy to see.
- If you can write, give away free articles that have links to your website.
- Give a free bonus to people who sign up. Make use of free ebooks.
- If you can, put free ads in ezines to let people know about your ezine.
- Add a link to your email signature that tells people to sign up.
So there you go. An easy-to-follow plan for your ezine.
Good luck.
