People who live now are very lucky. Back in the 1960s, there was no such thing as the internet, and cable TV was something you only read about in science fiction magazines. Now, you can find information about almost anything you want, right away, thanks to the internet. Something that only existed in dreams 10 years ago.
Even though we have all this information, some people still don't do well in life. What gives? Even though there is a lot of self-help information out there about how to be successful, most people still don't make it. And why do people still get depressed when there are so many books that tell them how to live a good life?
Information itself is not the problem. People will always have the same problems, no matter how much technology changes.
Why do some people fail to reach their goals?
If you ask someone why they didn't succeed at what they were trying to do, they will probably say it was someone else's fault or that something out of their control happened. But if you look at that person's life and compare it to someone else's, you could probably find many examples of people who had it much worse and still did well.
This shows that people fail not because of something outside of them, but because of something inside of them.
Reasons for failing from the inside
A habit is when you keep doing the same thing over and over again. You probably know about bad habits like smoking, but do you know about habits that lead to failure or success?
Making Successful Habits
Since your actions ultimately determine whether you succeed or fail, habits play a huge role in determining whether you will succeed or fail in life. In one case. It's a habit to read every day. This habit is likely to help you learn more about a subject and make it much more likely that you will master it and be good at it.
But let's say you don't want to read every day and would rather watch TV for a few hours. Do you think that this will help you learn anything? Or become the best at what you do? Almost certainly, the answer will be "no."
So, if you think about success and failure in terms of the actions you do every day, it's easy to see why some people succeed and others say they've failed. People who are successful keep doing things every day that make them more likely to be successful. Whilst unsuccessful people do not.
This doesn't mean that people who are successful never fail. They do. But they don't give up because they have formed habits that help them succeed.
Change what you do!
The message of this article is that if you want to make changes in your life, you must first figure out what your habits are. Think about the things you do every day and ask yourself if they help you get where you want to go in life.
If the answer is no, you need to change those habits, because if you keep doing the same thing, you'll keep getting the same results.
