Do you have a downline builder in your group? Do you know what a "downline builder" is, and if you do, do you know how they work?
There is a list of programmes you can join on a downline builder. The idea is that you will sign up for all of the programmes listed, and your sponsor will get credit for you as a referral in all of them. Then, you will find your own recruits and get credit for them as referrals in any of the programmes they join under you, and so on.

Sometimes downline builders are their own websites, and sometimes they're just a bonus at traffic exchanges. The people who run traffic exchanges make downline builders in the hopes that you will tell a lot of people about the exchange so that you can use this feature. Why? Well, to get more people to join, of course. But if you know how they work, downline builders can be a great way to build downlines.
The most important thing to know about downline builders is that they won't work unless you actively recruit referrals. Don't join a downline programme if you're not interested in building a team. You can't make money if you don't find people to join.
When deciding which downline builder programme to join, make sure to find out if all programme IDs are passed through.
Say you're part of programme ABC, but your friend isn't. Your referral gets a new person to join the downline builder programme, and that person also joins programme ABC. With full flow-through of IDs, programme ABC will give you credit for the referral. This works also uphill. If you don't belong to a programme and one of your referrals joins programme XYZ, your team leader (the person you signed up with) will get credit for that referral in programme XYZ, if he or she is a member there.
When there is no flow-through, the owner of the programme gets credit for all referrals in outside programmes where no ID is entered for all members. Downline builders that don't flow through aren't fair, and when you've done all the work, the owners are using you to build their own downlines.
Also, most people who join downline builders are already members of the programmes listed in the downline builder. They put in their IDs, but they won't join many programmes under you. "Feh!" you say. Don't run away so quickly.
Even if your referral only joins one programme or none at all, it's still worth your time to get them for the downline builder—if you can reach them. Make sure the downline builder programme has this feature as well, since networking is the key to being successful online. Check to see if you can have an email address, a phone number, an IM address, or any or all of the above. Use the information to get to know your new member as a person.
When you understand how they work, downline builders can be very useful tools, and building a large team will pay off. Just make sure that the programme you join is fair and has good programmes that anyone can join and benefit from. When those two things are met, you can decide what to do next.
