Every year, 11 billion pairs of shoes are made around the world. So, Vein is not a big player in terms of how much they sell.
And we're happy about that. So, you see, we make shoes for unique people like you.
Men who care about good shoes.
Men who know that it's just as important to know WHY a shoe was made as it is to know HOW it was made.
At Vein, the WHY is clear and simple: we make shoes by hand that say everything you want to say without saying a word. The answer to "how" we do it is just as simple and clear: we've been making the best shoes for men by hand for over 25 years.
For example, 600 pounds of pressure must be put on the leather in two dimensions to give it smooth lines and a slim profile. Yet, our craftspeople have learned how to use 800 pounds of pressure... in 3 dimensions... to make the tightest curves and most beautiful lines that make Vein shoes stand out. Only the best cobblers will take the extra time and buy the special tools to do it. We do it because it's what you'd expect from the best shoe designer in Australia.
You want to stand out with your shoes. Yes, even from far away, our new designs stand out. But when you get close, you can see all the fine details. Skillful and careful cobbling is needed to make a pattern with great details and difficult steps.
For each new design, you need to learn new skills, techniques, and facts. We practise cutting, lining, bonding, sewing, and baking from start to finish. The result is better-trained cobblers and, of course, the amazing Vein shoes.
The passion of a quality perfectionist is at the heart of Vein's body, which is a leader in design. At least four full-time "quality controllers" or "mentors" watch over all the major stages (initial training on each style, cutting, sewing, bonding and shaping).
If any flaws are found at any point in the process, they have the power to stop production right away and fix the problem. Even if there are mistakes, other factories will keep going and pick out the bad ones at the end. At Vein, we just don't make bad music.
The colour, strength, and feel of the leather are also carefully checked. Each pair of shoes is made from the same piece of leather, so they match perfectly. The founder of Vein goes to international tanneries and picks out the best leathers by hand.
The bonding of the leather is tested in both hot and cold places to make sure the shoes can handle both summer and winter. On the other hand, mass-produced shoes are, well, mass-produced.
All the extra care and work we do at Vein leads to a perfect shoe and the satisfaction and pride that comes with it.
Is it expensive to do? Absolutely! We do this, though, because we want you to get more than what you pay for.
