Most moms won't admit it, but the gifts they get for Mother's Day often disappoint them quite a bit.
Don't get me wrong—all mothers will be happy and grateful to get their gifts, but they will be able to tell that not much thought went into them.
Most mothers get gifts like flowers, chocolate, or candy. They might get a card, a basket, or some jewellery if they're lucky. I think that as we get older, we spend more money on Mother's Day gifts but put less time and effort into them.
But your mom doesn't want you to spend money on a present for her. She'll be happier with a gift than with nothing at all, but your mom will be much happier with a gift that takes more of your time than money.
Try asking your mom what the best gift she's ever gotten for Mother's Day was. I bet it's something you made when you were a kid. It could be a painting or a card with a funny design, but it will be something you made. Don't be surprised if she took care of it and still has it somewhere in her closet.
Well, why not make something this year as a Mother's Day gift? You don't have to be a child or very creative or crafty to make Mother's Day crafts. You can make a lot of things that will look good and won't be hard to make.
There are many different Mother's Day crafts, but making your own Mother's Day card might be one of the easiest. Why not make your own card if you're good at drawing or know how to use graphical software on the computer? Your mom will be proud of you!
Do you know how to make a scrapbook? If so, you could make your mom a personalised scrapbook for Mother's Day by doing some scrapbooking. You could make a scrapbook about a lot of different things, like what happened last year, a summary of your mother's life up to this point, or the whole family. I'm sure that this will taste great!
You could also make flower arrangements. I'm making candy bouquets that look really cute for Mother's Day this year. They didn't cost much to make, they look great, and it didn't take that long either. And I know what candies my mom likes, so I know she'll enjoy pulling off pieces to eat!
The important thing is to think of a craft you can do well and try it out. Trust me when I say that the crafts you make for your mother for Mother's Day will be MUCH more appreciated than another boring gift.
So, please don't buy another boring gift for Mother's Day. Why not try making something for Mother's Day instead?
