Ebay Ebook Success: Effectively Promoting your eBay Store

To really boost the number of ebooks you sell on eBay, you need to market your eBay store. eBay stores don't get as much attention as regular eBay listings, so they won't make you a lot of money unless you promote them. There are many ways to promote your eBay store, both on and off eBay. This article talks about a few:

  1. Listings on eBay Auction: eBay Auction and Buy It Now listings get the most attention on eBay. When someone searches for an item on eBay, all of the auctions and "Buy It Now" listings come up first. Then, after these, the listings from the eBay Store are shown. Since these Auction and Buy It Now listings get the most attention, it makes sense to run a few of them and put a link to your eBay store in the description. This works especially well with auction listings, since people often click the link so they can buy the item right away from your eBay store instead of waiting for the auction to end.
  2. Store RSS Feed: When you go to the home page of an eBay store, you may see a small RSS box in the bottom left corner. If you click on this RSS box, you'll see the RSS feed for your store. Now, I don't know much about RSS, but I do know that it's another easy and effective way to promote your eBay store from outside of eBay. If you do a search on Google, you can find free software that sends your RSS feeds to the main RSS directories.
  3. About Me Page on eBay: One of the best free ways to promote yourself on eBay is through the "About Me" page. When someone on eBay sees your eBay ID, whether you bid on something, leave feedback, or buy something, there will be an About Me logo next to it. Some people will click this logo. Even so, it is one of the eBay tools that gets used the least. If you don't already have a "About Me" page on eBay, make one RIGHT NOW. Use it to talk about your eBay store and tell people why they should buy from you.
  4. Article Submission: You can send your articles to 100s of article directories, and if they accept them, you can put a live link to your website or eBay store in the "author resource box." This is a great long-term way to get people to visit your website because not only will search engines index your article, but people will also reprint it on their own websites with your author resource box (and live link back to your eBay store). The longer your article is online, the more people will print it, which means it will get more traffic.
  5. Reviews and guides for eBay: These are a fairly new feature on eBay, but they are still a great way to get free advertising for your eBay store. You can write reviews of things like CDs and DVDs in the reviews section. The "Guides" section is more useful for eBay sellers because you can write guides about almost anything. There must be something you can write a guide about, so start right away. People who read your guide will see a link to your eBay store, which is another way to get free publicity.
  6. Blogging:- For those who don't know, a blog is a website. It's kind of like an online journal where you can write your thoughts, comments, or anything else. Blogs are a great way to get people to visit your eBay store. You can sign up for free blogs on a number of websites and then link back to your eBay store. If you post to it often, it will get more attention and will soon be a great way to get people to your site.
  7. Search Engines: As I said in my last post, your eBay store comes with a real URL. This URL will be listed in the directory of eBay stores and in search engines, which will bring more people to your eBay store. Also, eBay lets you choose your search engine keywords so that your store will be listed in the categories that you think are best for it. Getting listed in the search engines is a great way to bring in customers from outside of eBay and increase your sales potential.
  8. Cross-Promotion as an eBay Seller: In the last article, I talked about how you can cross-promote your items if you have an eBay store. eBay recently added the ability for sellers to promote each other's products. This is easy to set up, and eBay takes care of the whole thing. Go to the "Cross-Promotion Connections" section of "My eBay" and click on the "Request Cross-Promotions" link to set them up. If the other seller agrees, a box promoting their products will show up on your listings and vice versa. This is a great way to make more money on eBay and get more people to visit your store.

At first, the fact that eBay Stores don't get as much attention seems like a big problem, but if you put in a little effort to promote it yourself, it can be much more successful than any eBay Auction listing.
