Online dating on the Internet takes time and practise. People won't just come to chat with you because you're sitting at your own computer for no reason. Even with Internet dating, you have to be proactive and try to get in touch with people you like.
But even if you talk to some people or they talk to you, some guys on Internet dating and singles sites do stupid things and then complain that all the women are ignoring them.
Women want to be with men who know how to make them feel good and have fun. They want a man who is smart, listens, has a good sense of humour, and is a well-rounded person with a good attitude.
If you want to get responses from women and maybe even get to know them better through online dating, you need to stop making the mistakes that are turning them off. So:
- Don't act like you're willing to fly halfway around the world to meet someone you've been talking to on an online dating site if you're not. It's not fair to you or anyone else. It's easy to fall in love with someone 7,000 miles away, but are you really going to get out of your chair and go meet them? If so, you have our full support and admiration. If you're only looking for someone in your state or close to home, say so.
- Send each woman a separate email and think about how you want to talk to them on these dating sites. Women get 100 emails from different guys every day. If you send out 10 identical emails that you copied and pasted, you will just be ignored.
- Don't say anything bad about yourself in your profile. Women are much more likely to like someone who is happy.
- Make sure you use correct spelling and grammar in your profile. Women like an intelligent person. Don't ruin your chances by making simple mistakes in your profile. Guys, if you take the time to get it right, you'll get a response.
- Just like you, women look through profiles to find their perfect match. Post a recent, good picture of yourself that shows your style or sense of humour. Do not send photos of your "privates" to women. They will ask if they want to see it.
- Prove to women that you care about them. Learn about the woman. Ask her questions to find out more about her, like who she is and what she does. Don't talk about yourself all the time.
- If you're married, don't lie; be honest from the start. This hurts women, but it doesn't help. If you are honest, you might find someone who wants to hang out with you.
- Women like men with a bit of class, so don't pick a nickname that hints at something sexual (unless you are on an adult dating site). You don't want people to think that all you want is a one-night stand.
- Don't keep sending a woman messages if she tells you she's not interested. You're wasting your time, and she can say you're bothering her.
Be patient. It takes time to find the right person anywhere, including online dating sites and dating services.
