How would you like to have the money to pay for your car or house? Or maybe you want to quit your job and work part-time from home.
Selling ebooks and software with resell or master resell rights can help you reach your goals, no matter what they are. But what if you don't know much about how to market on the Internet? Well, eBay is a great and easy place to start. It is also a great way for resell rights marketers with a lot of experience to make extra money.
But because there are more and more ebook sellers on eBay, you need a good plan if you want to keep growing your business. Don't let low prices or the thought that resell rights are already very popular stop you from making a lot of money. I've been selling ebooks and software on eBay for 3 years, and in that time I've come up with and perfected 7 tried-and-true strategies that will let you sell ebooks for up to 10 times more than your competitors.
The clue is in the title of the ad! Here are seven smart listing strategies that will help you get more traffic, make more sales, and make more money.
- Title With Lots of Keywords
This tip isn't a secret, but few people use it. Most people who sell ebooks with resell rights just put the "actual name" of the product as the title of their eBay listing.
For example, a lot of sellers list "James Jackson's Giveaway Gold" by its title. This is actually an ebook about how to grow your email list. Would you type in "James Jackson's Giveaway Gold" if you were looking for a guide on how to build your mailing list? Not if you've never heard of an ebook like that. It should say "Build, Create, and Make Your Emailing List." This would be a smart way to use keywords and phrases that will bring the most people to that listing. You can use a free keyword search tool to find these words.
- Know what it is you're selling
How can you give a good listing title if you don't know what you're selling? Make sure to read the page that says how to buy it. On the sales page, you can often find helpful keywords and phrases that will help you list it correctly.
- Look at the titles of the listings of your competitors.
Do this before you choose the title for your ad. As you think of possible keywords and phrases for your title, check eBay to see if any other products with the same name come up. Make sure you pick the keywords and phrases that have the least amount of competition.
- Make the most of misspelt words
People who can't spell will give you money. For example, a product that has to do with "Google Adsense" can also be written as "Google Ad Sense" or "Goggle Adsense."
- Positioning in the Cross
A great example of this would be an ebook about collecting coins that says it is about collecting coins with a metal detector. Even if your ebook has nothing about metal detectors, anyone who searches for metal detectors will see your ebook on coins. Presto! You just made a niche listing with no competitors.
- Link to a known name
This is a great way to get people who know the brand to come to your site, even if you don't sell the product with the name. For example, if you were selling an ebook on how to make a pay-per-click search engine, this would be the case. You could put "Make a pay-per-click search engine like Google Adwords" as the title.
When you use all six of these methods, the resellers often won't be able to find you very easily. Resellers will look at what other resellers are selling and try to copy their titles and list prices. Most of them will be looking for the real name of the product, so they won't be able to see you.
- Make a CD of your e-book
Now that you're different from everyone else on eBay, burn your ebooks to CD. Why a CD? You can raise the price and add shipping and handling costs to it. You can easily charge $4.99 for shipping, even though the CD and shipping materials cost less than half of that.
So there you go. Now you can start selling ebooks the smart way and make the easy money you've always wanted.
