Have you ever wished you could live on a Cruise Ship for the rest of your life?
Going all over the world, seeing all sorts of strange places, and cruising for as long as you want without a care in the world.
It is now a fact, and there are several options.
- The World of ResidenSea opened in 2002 as a condo-style community on a 644-foot cruise ship. It had restaurants, a spa, a fitness centre, and other features that you might find on a typical mid-size cruise ship.
As with condo resorts on land, short-term rentals of a week or more can be set up without having to buy, and The World's ongoing circumnavigation of the globe stops at many different ports.
Residensea has problems.
-fights between tourists and the people who own condos on the ship.
The owners want to stay in exciting ports for a few days, but tourists want to move from port to port every day. This is because the ship needs to be full to cover the cost of suites that haven't been sold.
Sales of real condos on the ship have stopped because people are worried about terrorism, the economy, and the ship's future.
The cost of maintaining each suite is about $100,000 per year, while a suite itself now costs between $1.9 and $4 million. Recently, this ad showed up on the Internet:
"From $600 a day, you can rent a luxury cabin with a deck."
Someone with two cabins on the ResidenSea. That comes out to $18,000 a month.
- Join a group that plans to buy an old cruise ship and turn it into condos.
This idea has been tried before, but it didn't work.
There were just too many problems in the real world.
-Trying to interest enough people
-Trying to get people to say yes.
-Trying to find a ship that wouldn't break up as soon as it left the harbour.
-Trying to get people to give them money before buying a ship.
And these were problems BEFORE they even bought a ship.
Think about the problems that would come up after you bought the ship.
- Buy cruises that you can go on over and over again.
This seems to be the only practical way to live on a Cruise Ship permanently.
Here are the estimated costs for two people, starting with the least expensive:
Cost of a basic cruise: $100 x 2 = $6,000 per month
This price includes tips, all-you-can-eat meals, and port fees.
Seniors who live on their own seem to spend about $2,000 per month per person, which adds up to $4,000.
This means food as well.
So, a couple can live on a Cruise Ship (or ships) forever if they pay an extra $2,000 per month.
If you have an extra $24,000 per year to spend, this is a good way to live because:
-The food on a cruise ship is probably a lot better than what you would get if you were living on your own.
You can use a Caribbean Cruise Line this month, an Alaska Cruise Line next month, and a European Cruise Line for the next 6 months.
Every night, shows.
Built-in new friends about once a week. Most cruises last for 7 days, after which you can meet new people and make new friends.
-A whole staff of cruise workers who can help you with ANYTHING if you have a problem.
So, if you want to live on a cruise ship, you only need to pay an extra $24,000 a year for two people.
