Even if you are a very shy person, there is an alternative to network marketing.
At first glance, network marketing seems like it should work very well. You buy a product, tell all your friends about it, and then get a cut of what they buy. This kind of "word-of-mouth" advertising is what the big TV advertisers fear the most. Your recommendation of a product to your friends is much more powerful than a pricey TV ad.
So, each sale gives you a few cents or dollars. But the big money comes (or is supposed to come) when you get your friend to do what you did, which is to tell all their friends about the product and join the network. And when they make a sale, you get a small cut. As your network grows, so does your income. How come it doesn't work? Why do 97 percent of people who try to build a network fail?
Two main answers come to mind. First, the way people are paid. To make any money at all, you have to sell something. Let's say you make an average of $1 for each order that goes through your downline. That means that you and your team need to make 100 sales for you to get $100. That isn't very much. You'll probably need at least $500,000 to live the life you've always wanted, quit your day job, spend more time with your family, and pay off your mortgage, car loan, and credit card debts. At $1 a pop it's going to take you a long, long time.
So, "recruitment" is an important part of the business. If you could just get enough people to join your team, you could sell all that stuff and make a lot of money. But you don't have any more friends and most of them don't care or aren't good at networking. This is the second reason why network marketers fail. To grow your downline, you have to go out and talk to people you don't know. Most people don't like doing this. It's hard, makes you feel bad, and wears you out. So 97 out of 100 people who try to network give up and fail. The dream fades away and ends.
So what should we do?
You can't get rich by making $1 at a time. And calling random people out of the blue is about as fun as pulling your own teeth.
Just forget about the old way of doing network marketing and look at it from the point of view of a rich person. If you sell a high-priced item, you'll make more money with less work. Why not make $500 per sale instead of making $1? And if it hurts your head to sell to strangers, why not let someone else do it? Give the job to the professionals and let them do all the talking, selling, and closing. I do this, and you could do the same thing.
You can run this system from behind your computer screen from anywhere in the world. This is neither a pyramid nor an MLM scheme. You can do it even if you are a true introvert who doesn't like talking to people.
