I've been going to the movies a lot lately, which means I've also been seeing a lot of trailers. When we don't go to many movies, I miss seeing all the new stuff, but sometimes that can also be a good thing. I couldn't count how many times I got tired of seeing trailers for "The Eye" and "The Ruins."
But summer movie season is just about to start, and there are a lot of movies coming out in the next few months that I want to see. Here's a list of what they are.
The theatre standee for "Made of Honor," which comes out on May 2, didn't do anything for me, but the trailers for the movie have made it look funny. Yeah, it seems pretty predictable and like a typical romantic comedy, but I like the physical humour I've seen in the trailers. Here is where you can find the trailer.
When I first saw the trailer for "Iron Man," which comes out on May 2, I was very surprised to see Robert Downey, Jr. in the main role. I guess everyone is making movies like this now. Still, it looks like it will be interesting. Here is where you can find the trailer.
I remember watching and loving "Speed Racer" as a child, but I don't remember much about it (except that whenever I've been stuck at a train crossing, I've always wished I had his car so I could jump over everything and get going), so I'm interested in seeing the live-action feature film version, which comes out on May 9. Since I liked "The Chronicles of Narnia," I want to see "Prince Caspian," which comes out on May 16. I haven't read the books, and I haven't decided yet if I want to. I already have too much to read, so it's not like I'm looking for something to read, but I might think about it in the future. You'd have to be living under a rock to not know that the fourth movie in the Indiana Jones series comes out on May 22. I'll spend most of May trying very hard not to find out anything about the movie before it comes out at Cannes. I'm excited to see the movie because the trailer looks great, Karen Allen is back as Marion, and I want to see how Shia LeBeouf does in the movie. Here is where you can find the trailer.
I didn't know until recently that they were making another version of "The Incredible Hulk," which is coming out on June 13. I didn't want to see the last version, especially since the special effects were so bad, so I wasn't too excited about this one until I saw the trailer. It looks pretty good, and the fact that Edward Norton is playing Bruce Banner is interesting to me. I'm excited to see how this version turns out, since it also stars Liv Tyler, William Hurt, and Robert Downey, Jr. Here is where you can find the trailer.
I've already said that I can't wait to see "Wall-E," which comes out on June 27. We plan to buy tickets for the El Capitan's opening night as soon as they go on sale. (Do you really need me to give you links to the trailers?)
I also want to see "Wanted," which comes out on June 27. That means I'll see two movies that weekend. Angelina Jolie isn't my favourite actress, but the trailer looks great and Morgan Freeman is in it, so how could you go wrong? Here is where you can find the trailer.
I just saw the trailer for "Hellboy II," which comes out on July 11, and it looks like it could be fun. Even though I haven't seen the first movie, this trailer made me think of a city full of people from Tatooine's cantina. The husband wants to see the movie, and he thinks I should see the first movie so I can understand this one better. Here is where you can find the trailer.
"The Dark Knight," the second book in the new Batman series, will come out on July 18. I was looking forward to seeing the movie anyway because I love this version of the story (I didn't like Batman played by Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, or George Clooney, but I didn't see the last two movies in the series), but it will be sad to see Heath Ledger's last role, in which he supposedly does a great job. "Mamma Mia," the movie I'm most excited to see, comes out on July 18. There will be a lot of different kinds of movies this weekend. (You don't need me to tell you where to find this trailer, do you?)
I didn't know anything about "Tropic Thunder," which comes out on August 15, and as I watched the trailer, it didn't look like the kind of movie I'd normally want to see, except for one thing. Robert Downey, Jr., who seems to be very busy, is in this movie. He plays a critically acclaimed Australian actor who goes through a controversial medical procedure so he can play an African-American character in the movie within the movie. The footage of him in the trailer looks great, so I think I'll go see this movie just to see him. Here is where you can find the trailer.
"Hamlet 2," which comes out on August 22, is another movie I didn't know anything about. But we just saw the trailer, and it made us laugh so much that it's one of the movies I'm most excited to see. It's completely disrespectful, and the show inside the movie looks crazy. Here is where you can find the trailer.
I had heard they were making a new version of "The Women," which will come out on October 10. I liked both the original movie and the original play, which I had both seen and read. This new version has an interesting cast, so I'm curious to see how it turns out. It looks like there isn't a trailer yet.
