The King of Queens took the TV world by storm in the fall of 1998. It was a spin-off of Everybody Loves Raymond, a comedy show that had won an Emmy Award. It has a colourful cast of characters and funny scenes that are well-written. Doug and Carrie Heffernan, played by Kevin James and Leah Remini, are a blue-collar middle-class couple who live in Queens, New York. Life is great for the couple until Carrie's father Arthur, who is recently widowed and played by Jerry Stiller, moves in with them. Now, they have to deal with not only their own oddities but also Arthur's. King of Queens is a hilarious comedy show that the whole family can enjoy. It has some of the best one-liners and funny scenes on TV today.
The King of Queens (Season 4) DVD has a lot of funny episodes, like "Walk, Man," which is the first episode of the season. Doug and Carrie want to try to get pregnant again after Carrie lost a baby a few months earlier. The problem is that Arthur sleeps all day and then wants to hang out with Doug and Carrie all night. To get some time alone, they make up a story and hire a beautiful dog walker who pretends to like Arthur. In "Friender Bender," Doug and Carrie hit the back of Deacon and Kelly's car, which hurts their friendship, and in "Hero Worship," Doug thinks about following a lifelong dream to open his own sandwich shop.
