Done with the same old solitaire games? Learn to play Klondike, one of the most popular solitaire games that is not only relaxing and fun but also has a history that goes back to the Californian Gold Rush.
Since every home, school, and office now has a computer, solitaire has become the most popular game. Because it is easy to learn and play, it is also easy to get hooked on. But that was a long time ago, and people are getting tired of playing the same game over and over again. So, they came up with new ways to play, and Klondike is the most well-known of these.
It's funny because it's not a new game. Klondike is a game that has been around since the late 1800s. Historians think that it started as a way for miners in the Alaskan and Californian mountains to pass the time.
How Does Klondike Work?
It's not hard to learn how to play this game, but even though you'll get the hang of it quickly, it's hard to beat in a fun way. It's not frustrating; it's fun and makes you feel good. One thing you need to learn is how to lay out the cards.
- Put one card on the table in front of you to start. Put it right side up.
- Put another card on top of the other cards, face down, and a bit below them to make a column. In the same way, place one open card and then a closed card on top of the other cards.
- Put six more cards to its left, but keep the faces down on these.
- Put a face-up card to the left of the first card you put down.
If you do what the instructions say, the last column should have seven cards in it. Also, make sure you have a total of 24 cards in your hand, as these are the ones you will use to play.
What's next?
You have to try to put all of the cards on one of the four aces. When these show up, you have to try to make a sequence of four matching cards from the ace to the king. As soon as you see an ace, set it aside and move on to the next card. (For example, put a two and a three after an ace.) Make sure that each suit is the right colour and style. This means that the ace of diamonds gets only diamonds, the ace of spades gets only spade cards, and so on. In the same way, you can make card sequences on the base cards by putting the opposite-colored card below it. For example, you can put either a five of diamonds or a five of hearts under a six of clubs, but you can't put a five of clubs or a five of spades there.
Opening the cards with the backs up
If you can use the cards that are facing up, you can then open the card that is under it. Like in regular Solitaire, when you open a base card and have only six bases or less, you can open a new base by putting a King there.
Moving Sequences
Sequences of cards can also be moved from one base to another, and it doesn't matter how long the sequence is. All that matters is following the rules of order.
To use the cards you have in your hand, turn over the top three cards. But keep in mind that you can only use the card on top. You can use the card under it only if and when you use the card above it. Keep revealing three at a time. When you're done, gather up all the cards and start over.
