It seems that robots are getting smarter and smarter.
Now, we read, the advanced machines can drive, as long as there isn't too much to steer around, be watchful lifeguards, and act like humans in video games. And how far is it from playing video games to messing around in politics?
So, many of the smart bots have been talking about how they could get into politics, which is said to be one of the least intellectually demanding jobs in the world.
One robot revealed his political ambitions, saying, "I've been listening to Senators and Members of the House of Representatives, and I seem to have way more information than a lot of them in my database."
And a bot with a lot of ambition pointed out, "I haven't heard anything President Bush has said that I can't understand, except for one word that my dictionary doesn't know. He has almost convinced me that I could be President without much thought."
In a recent survey, Americans were asked, "What do you think would do a better job of running the country, elected officials of the caliber we currently have or highly intelligent robots?"
A large number of people said, "Bring on the bots!"
The second question was: "You know that their intelligence is made by machines, right?"
Most people said they liked it better than what they see as a general lack of intelligence in the current crop of politicians.
