Action, suspense, and laughter This book has everything. Even though it needs to be edited, Men of Extreme Action by Joseph Kochanoff is one of the best books I've read this year. Joseph is about the business of making action movies. It has murder, great fight scenes, and sabotage.
The two main characters are action movie stars who are having hard times in their personal lives and can't do their best work. Wolfe Neilson is a middle-aged man who is losing both his job and his battle with drinking. Steele Taylor is a self-centered old man who has become rude and demanding to a fault. These two actors have to make an action movie together as a last-ditch effort to save their dying careers and personalities. Both of them aren't used to being in the limelight at the same time, and it's fun to watch them fight. Steele and Wolfe are always making insulting jokes that made me laugh out loud, but at the end of the day, they will need each other to make it through the next day.
The plot is made more interesting by colourful characters like Mr. Pang, the torture trainer who forces Wolfe and Steele to work together, and Tina, the agent who helps settle many fights between the main characters. Blaze Vansome, the most well-known action movie star of the time, is an easy person to dislike.
Soon, Steele and Wolfe will feel like they are in one of their movies. Whom can they depend on? Where can they get help? How does a person fight on their own against a well-connected crime group?
Wolfe and Steele get into one funny situation after another as they try to figure out who is trying to stop their movie from being made. Their jokes keep the mood light, and the story moves so quickly that you won't be able to put the book down.
I strongly suggest you read this book."
