Teens always want to find ways to make money. Parents can't buy everything a teenager wants because designer clothes, NFL sportswear, music, and movies are so expensive. Most teens know that making money is the only way to get the things they want. Sadly, many states have changed their driving laws so that only people over the age of 18 can drive with no restrictions. This makes it much harder for most teenagers to get cash. Here are some ways that teens can make money when they don't have the freedom to drive.
Teens who don't have a car or driver's licence can make the most money by helping people in their own neighbourhood. These are the people you knew when you were young. Both you and they can rely on them. After all, they know your parents and where you live, so if you try to scam them or don't do a good job, they will find out. When you want to make money, the first thing you should do is go door to door in your neighbourhood and ask people what they need or want.
Teens can often get paid to mow lawns, rake leaves, or walk dogs for busy families or retired people. As a teenager, you can also make money by gardening, washing windows or cars, cleaning the house in general, or trimming hedges. If there are a lot of families in your area, you could even put up flyers offering cheap babysitting after school and on the weekends.
A paper route is another way for teens to make money. Many big newspapers now want their carriers to be at least 18 years old. Smaller community papers, on the other hand, often still let teens deliver their papers. This is easy to do on foot, by bike, motorbike, or skateboard. Teens may also be able to make money by passing out flyers for small businesses that are run in their area.
If nothing else works, teens can go to local businesses that are close enough to walk to. Most convenience stores only hire people over the age of 18 or 21. But grocery stores will hire teenagers to stock shelves and fast food places will hire teenagers to cook. You can also look for jobs cleaning or working the door at small movie theatres in your area. Teens will be able to make the most money with these kinds of jobs. But in some places, these kinds of jobs are hard to find.
