This article talks about an easy way to make a lot of money if you are a good shopper and know how to find "deals" while shopping.
Want to find ways to make money from home? You've probably heard that you can make money by cleaning out your garage and having a garage sale or by selling things on eBay. Recently, I learned a little trick that has helped me make some extra money with very high profit margins. I've always been proud of my ability to find a good deal. I love getting something for a good price. Especially when someone tells me, "Oh, I love that blouse," and I can tell them how cheap it was. Do you belong to this group? If so, your skill could help you make more money.
I ride horses, which is a hobby that costs a lot of money. The horses are expensive, as are the feed, clothes, and tack. Tack is all the equipment you need to ride, like saddles, bridles, and other things. A tack shop near me has a big sale every three months. I am on their mailing list, so I always know ahead of time. I and a few other people get there early and wait for the doors to open. They usually mark down items by 20% to 40%, but sometimes they mark down special items that are almost free because they are going out of business so much that they are almost free. I always look everywhere in the store for all of these things as fast as I can because they are usually hard to find. For instance, I once found two pairs of tall leather boots. Even though these riding boots were not very good, they sold for over $100 a pair. The sizes were strange. The size of the foot was fine, but the size of the calf was really big. Each pair of boots was marked down to $10. Because they were so small, most people didn't even bother to look at them. But I bought them right away and sold both pairs on eBay a few days later for more than $65 each. The people who won the auction paid for shipping, so I made a profit of $110. If you remember, these boots sell for more than $100 a pair, so the people who bought them were very happy with their purchase.
When I don't want to deal with eBay auctions and shipping, I bring the items to my local tack exchange, where they are sold on consignment. I don't make as much money this way, but I don't have to sell and ship the items either. If the item is an odd size, like the boots, I usually have better luck selling it on eBay, where there are a lot more people looking at it.
On another occasion, I found a designer down riding vest for $20 that cost a lot. The price of these vests is $200. I sold it at a consignment shop near my house and made $60.
I know that most people don't ride horses, but this way to make extra money can be used to buy anything. You just have to know how to shop smartly and how much things are worth. You could make a lot of money if you were really good at it.
