As the Editor in Chief of Crediteria.com, I have seen firsthand how the subprime credit card and housing markets are hurting people. To make quick money, banks and loan brokers gave loans to people with bad credit.
Sad is that these loan sharks were taking advantage of the hopes and dreams of people with low incomes and poor credit by giving them mortgages and credit cards. After all, having a home and living a normal life is really the American dream. So, when someone who makes $8 or $9 an hour gets the chance to stake a claim and own a home, their emotions send them into a financial situation they can't handle.
What went wrong?
When a person with poor credit was approved for a home loan, the loan had an introductory rate that kept the monthly payment low enough that the person could just barely afford it. When the introductory interest rate ended, which usually happened after 6 to 12 months, the rate on the mortgage loan went up by as little as 0.5%. Most of the time, the rates went up by up to 3%.
The rise in interest rates meant that the monthly mortgage payment went up, leaving people unable to pay their monthly bills and forcing them to sell their homes.
If the homeowner wants to stay in their home, which they usually have to do because the housing market is so weak, they either have to find a way to make more money or file for bankruptcy.
Most people can't take on a second job because of how much it costs to heat and cool their homes. People just don't have enough money to drive to work.
So how can the average person make more money?
One way is to find a way to make money that doesn't involve driving. What I want to show here is that these people have been given the chance to make money on the internet for free.
