This article talks about how honesty helps build long-term relationships with customers so they keep coming back. It also talks about how honesty, trust, and credibility are all important for marketing.
Is being honest no longer important? As they look for what they need on the Internet, many people ask themselves this question.
As the bad economy in the U.S. hurts more and more people, they are always looking for other ways to solve their problems, such as the Internet.
In a rush to find the best solution, they spend their own money on "Get Rich Schemes," only to find out that the deal they thought they were getting wasn't a deal at all.
Many people get even after having their hopes, dreams, and money taken away. Some people may get over it by learning bad things, like not to trust anyone, which could last for the rest of their lives. Some people stopped buying completely. Still others will run and tell their friends how they were ripped off and by whom. This will cause a ripple effect that will hurt marketers' reputations.
We reach the same conclusion no matter how we look at these facts. We need to change the way we do things and become more ethical in how we run our businesses.
Any marketer needs to be honest, if for no other reason than to be able to keep running their business. Second, it makes it easier for someone else to get what they need.
People used to have a lot of faith in their local merchant. You remember back then, right? The marketer was honest and gave the customer more than they asked for most of the time... They knew how to be successful for a long time.
We all have the same power to achieve long-term success and help change what's going on in the internet marketing circle. By taking advantage of this power and making a few changes, we can help the economy grow, which is what we need to get through tough times.
You might say to yourself, "But I do my work honestly." You may be! There are still a lot of marketers who sell their products in an honest way. That's great, but what about teaching other merchants how to be honest? For example, our affiliates... Do we teach them how to be honest? How about the new marketer who wants to learn from the old-timers and work with some of them?
I know that some people who have been making money for a while will say, "We've tried to teach the young about ethical marketing, but they don't listen." That might be true. We can't force anyone to do the right thing by pulling on their arms.
But we can show them what to do. We give them the next move. Then, the young will learn from the mistakes they make. Without customers and a way to pay for the future, they will once again look to the old-timers for advice.
Then, and only then, will online marketing help the economy grow and be strong enough to last through the hard times we all face.
If anyone feels offended by this article, maybe it's time to look at how marketing works as a whole.
Being honest is the best way to build trust, especially when dealing with customers. It works both ways. The customer gets what they paid for, their hopes are high, and they still have money in their wallets to buy other things.
On the other hand, the marketer gets a repeat customer who will tell his or her friends, who will tell their friends, and so on. In the long run, this helps the marketer make more money and build great relationships and a great reputation. To make it look better, they say that they are helping someone else.
So, I guess we need to ask ourselves: Do we keep this "Dog eat dog" mentality and end up eating dirt?
Or, do we take advantage of the power we've had in the past and try to change the way people think? This will help us make more money and make everyone happy.
We get to decide! Do you know what I'm doing?
