Some people apply for credit cards, get them, and keep them for maybe a year without ever using them. They pay the required monthly fees, if there are any. These people just have a credit card that gives them a wider range of options, and they know that they could use it if they wanted to. On top of that, many people have credit cards that aren't secured.
Then why don't these people use their credit cards? Is it because they're afraid or because they're so used to using cash that it never occurs to them to use a credit card?
It could be that way, but believe it or not, that's not exactly true. Many people who have been given an unsecured credit card only use it in case of an emergency. So, they know they have the means to do whatever is so important but they don't have the cash to pay for it.
This is a great idea, and people who are in charge of how they spend their money can do this. It's like they put the card in their purse or wallet and then forget about it or act like they don't have it.
You have to admit, though, that there are some people who, once they get a credit card, can't help but go out and use it to the max. Then, when their monthly bills come, they just pay the minimum amount they can to keep the credit card.
I think it's a good idea to have a credit card just for emergencies. And everyone knows that these situations do come up, often more than once. In these situations, a person who only uses their credit card for emergencies can pay it off much faster. This is because the credit card is usually not at its maximum limit and can be paid off quickly and easily before all the interest fees add up. Not to mention that they don't have to pay the minimum each month. Instead, they just pay the amount they used for the emergency and put the credit card back in their purse or wallet, almost forgetting they have it again until the next emergency comes up and they don't have enough money to deal with it.
This, in turn, builds their credit, even if no one can see it. You see, when they use a credit card and then pay it off quickly, it looks good on their credit score or credit record as a whole. Then who are you? Are you the type of person who only uses their credit card in emergencies, forgetting they have it until they have to use it? Or are you the type of person who uses it up to the maximum amount allowed and only pays the minimum amount each month?
