People have always been obsessed with making more money. Money is something that people always want more of. Unless you are a saint or a social worker who cares about the needs of others more than your own, you will always be thinking about how to increase your own income. As the countries of the world continue to get better and grow, the economies keep getting better. Because of this, the living standards of people around the world have been getting better every year. Obviously, inflation limits the number of cars we can buy. But we keep trying to make things better for ourselves in a world that is always changing.
When the first car was made, only the very wealthy could buy one and drive it around. Slowly, cars for people in the middle class began to appear. Even though it's not a Mercedes-Benz, a car with a low price tag has a lot going for it. It gets more miles per gallon. Regular servicing costs are a lot less. Repairs are expensive for people in the middle class, but they are not impossible to pay for. Also, if someone has car insurance, the insurance company pays for a lot of the costs of fixing their car. Today, everyone can buy a car if they want to. You just need to get a good personal loan to pay for your new status symbol.
Even houses are often used as status symbols. You could rent a beautiful apartment in a great neighbourhood, but if you own a house in the same neighbourhood, it would be a better sign of your financial status. Those of us who already have homes still look for better homes in better areas. We might not move to a new house because of things like how close it is to the office and how close we are to our friends and neighbours. But most of us dream of owning a palace in the green countryside or even a deserted island in the Mediterranean.
Just like cars, houses cost a lot. So, most of the time, we have to go to one or two loan companies to help us find a loan that fits our needs so we can buy some status symbols. Most of us might never be able to afford a private jet. But at least we can get what we paid for.
