Canadians have their own American Express AIR MILES credit cards that they can use to buy things for themselves. Also, employees of the Canadian federal government are given their own versions of the American Express AIR MILES credit card to use when travelling on official government business. Now, AMEX Bank of Canada also gives small businesses their own American Express AIR MILES credit card.
The American Express AIR MILES card is a gold card that looks very prestigious. It gives small business owners both customer service from American Express and an AIR MILES reward collectors' package. The ease of using an American Express credit card can also help you with the different ways you need to pay for your small business.
Benefits
With the American Express AIR MILES credit card for business, you can get twice as many rewards because of its power. When you buy things with your card, you get rewards. At the same time, you get rewards on your AIR MILES collector card.
To take advantage of this double bonus, pay for your purchases with your American Express AIR MILES card at any of the 9,600 AIR MILES programme sponsors and scan your AIR MILES collector card at the same time. With the American Express AIR MILES credit card, you only pay once, but you get two benefits: once on your AIR MILES card and once on your American Express AIR MILES credit card.
You can ask for no more than nine extra cards. Each of these extra cards lets you earn rewards miles, but all of the points you earn will only be added to your main American Express AIR MILES card.
Money Matters
There is no annual fee for the American Express AIR MILES credit card for business. At an APR of 3.99 percent, you can move balances from other credit cards to your American Express AIR MILES credit card. To get this low introductory APR, you must transfer your balance within the first six months after your application was approved. The APR for funds advances and new purchases will be higher from the start, at 18.50%.
The low APR on these balance transfers to the American Express AIR MILES credit card is conditional. If you miss a payment during the introductory period, you lose all the benefits of the low APR and the remaining amount on the transferred balance will be subject to the normal APR for purchases.
Financial Management
The American Express AIR MILES credit card for business has features that you can choose to use. These features can help you keep track of your finances. One option is to have an Annual Management Report made of all business expenses put on your American Express AIR MILES credit card. This includes both the main card and any additional cards. This report gives you a summary of all your transactions for the whole year. This should help you a lot when it comes to keeping track of your costs. You can also use the summary to help you fill out your tax forms. For a small fee of $24 per year, you can use this extra feature.
A secure online account access is the other useful choice. For example, if you want to know exactly how much you spent on a business trip, you can quickly find out online by using the My Account service.
