Okay, so you've decided to use Affiliate Marketing to make money. So, you sign up for some affiliate programmes and start putting free ads in newsletters and on sites that let you post free ads. You'll make a lot of money now, right?
Nope! Sorry! It won't work if you just send out a few ads. Not if you want to really make it in life.
You must first determine your passion. I mean, besides making money! What do you do for fun? What are you REALLY good at doing? Who do you work for? Everyone is good at something that is unique to them. Look for it.
You probably have more than one thing you really like and are good at. Try to find five, or ten if you want to be really ambitious. Write a list of them. Keep in mind that you will be spending a lot of time on this subject. Make sure you enjoy it!
Go through your list item by item. Start making a rough outline of everything you know about the topic. There's no need to make it complicated. This is just to give you a sense of how much information there is about a certain topic.
Try mind mapping. Write down what your main idea is. Around it, draw a circle. Now, start coming up with subcategories that fit with your main category. Put a circle at the end of the line that goes from your main category. Put the name of the subcategory in this circle. Find as many subcategories as you can, and even more if you can.
Use this method to go through each of your interests. Pick the one you know the most about and feel most comfortable writing about.
What if you "think" you don't know enough about your subject? Then, find out more. Read magazines and books. Try some Internet searches. Who can say? You might find a small area, or "niche," that needs to be filled with useful information.
Affiliate marketing is a lot more than that, of course. But the first step is to figure out what you love to do. Making money on the Internet doesn't have to be your "passion." It could be cooking, sewing, playing pool, or anything else. In fact, it would be better if you didn't find your niche in online marketing, since that's what almost everyone else is doing.
Make your topic unique. Do it your way. And do it with all your heart. You will get paid well.
