As I've gotten older, the idea of wearing the cool jeans that younger people wear has never been my thing. Even though I don't have a pot belly, these jeans look like they need a six-pack stomach, which I don't have. Also, they look so uncomfortable, and I wonder if when you try to sit down, they get any lower. Oh well, I'll wear mid-rise jeans so I don't look too old.
The older I get, the more I have to deal with the fact that I'm not as cool as I used to be. Jeans are still one of the clothes I wear a lot, but my style is very different from that of my sons.
I've never claimed to be the king of fashion, but I do try to find a balance between what my body needs and what's in style. I don't want to wear the low-rise, baggy jeans I see everywhere on TV because they won't look good on me or be appropriate for my age. But I like to try to look as good as I can with the things I have.
I've found that the regular rise of jeans or tight jeans work really well for me and help to hide the fact that my stomach is slowly getting bigger as I get older. I work out and eat well, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get rid of this little belly I have. But I guess that comes with getting older.
Low-rise jeans look pretty cool, and I'm sure a lot of us middle-aged men have at least tried a pair on, but I've never seen anyone over 40 who looked good in them.
On the other hand, my sons love low-rise jeans so much that I think that's about all they own. When we go to the mall, they ask for another pair of jeans every time. It's strange that they already have so many jeans but still want more. But since jeans are the latest fashion trend, I guess my wife and I can't do much about it.
Low-rise jeans are a great idea, but they're only for women and young people. I'll stick with my regular jeans.
