The number of places to gamble in Canada grew by leaps and bounds in the 1990s.
There are now 59 casinos and 70 racetracks with slots in 7 provinces and the NWT of Canada.
In each of the participating provinces, gaming is run by the provincial government.
The minimum age to gamble legally is 19. I suggest you call ahead to find out when and where the casino is open.
At the time of writing, all of the information was correct, but that could change.
Nova Scotia
Casino Nova Scotia has two locations in Halifax: Purdy's Wharf and Sydney, both on the water at 1983 Upper Water St.
Quebec

Point Edward is at 2000 Venetian Boulevard. Location: Near the Bluewater Bridge on the St. Clair River, 10 blocks from Sarnia, Ontario. This casino has a nautical theme, so it has things like a ship's hull, a saltwater aquarium, and a glass bridge inside.
Casino Sault Ste. Marie: 30 Bay St. W., Sault Ste. Marie. Location: About 400 miles north of Toronto, in Northern Ontario. This area is a great place to hunt and fish.

Alberta
Instead of VLTs, casinos have regular slot machines.
Edmonton is the city in Canada with the most casino growth, and Casino Yellowhead is its crown jewel.
West Edmonton Mall, the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the world, is in this city.
Yellowhead Trail at 153rd Street is where the Casino Yellowhead is. It is in the West Edmonton Mall.
Yellowhead is the largest casino in western Canada. It has 73,500 square feet of space.
The province of British Columbia
Great Canadian Casinos runs a number of BC casinos.
Most places have Blackjack, Roulette, Mini-Baccarat, Red Dog, Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud Poker, Sic Bo, Texas Hold 'Em, Seven-Card Stud Poker, and slots.
Each casino is in the middle of a big city and has a currency exchange, food and drink service, easy access for people in wheelchairs, and public transportation close by.
